Marketplace, Training & Employment Terms

Supplement to Terms of Service | Draft for legal review

DRAFT FOR LEGAL REVIEW — This document is a proposed website policy and must be reviewed, tailored, and approved by Canadian legal counsel before final reliance.
Effective date: September 4, 2026 · Contact: support@lineman.ca

1. Purpose and incorporation

These Marketplace, Training & Employment Terms supplement the Terms of Service. They apply to jobs, projects, storm response, training requests, proposals, awards, trainer/provider profiles, credentials, courses, employer tools, workforce matching, advertisements, content and all communications or transactions among users. If there is a conflict, these specific terms control for those features.

2. No agency, employment, certification or guarantee

Lineman Canada is not the employer, recruiter, staffing agency, trainer, training provider, school, contractor, project owner, utility, insurer, regulator, certifying body, representative or agent of any user merely because it provides a Platform workflow. Use of the Platform does not create an employment, independent-contractor, partnership, joint-venture, fiduciary, agency or training relationship between Lineman Canada and any user, or between users.

A training request, proposal, shortlist, award, acceptance, payment, attendance record, completion entry, badge, profile attribute or credential display does not confirm training, competency, certification, licensing, employment, job placement, legal eligibility, insurance, safety or a guaranteed outcome.

3. Responsibilities of employers and clients

Employers, clients and contractors are solely responsible for postings, legal compliance, screening, interviews, reference and credential checks, right-to-work checks, wage and payroll obligations, taxes, human-rights and employment-law compliance, workplace safety, supervision, accommodation, insurance, site access, work planning, emergency response and all hiring or engagement decisions. They must not discriminate or post misleading, unlawful or unsafe opportunities.

4. Responsibilities of trainers and providers

Trainers and providers are solely responsible for their qualifications, authority, approvals, content, delivery, instructors, facilities, equipment, insurance, safety systems, participant screening, competency evaluation, records, certificates, refunds, cancellations and compliance. They must not describe any course as certified, accredited, approved or qualifying unless that claim is accurate, authorized and supportable.

5. Responsibilities of workers and students

Workers and students are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profiles and documents, their readiness and fitness for work or training, independent verification of offers and providers, compliance with site and training rules, travel, PPE, equipment, insurance, licensing and legal requirements. No one should perform work or training outside their competence, authorization, medical fitness, legal eligibility or safe conditions.

6. Transactions, disputes and records

Any contract, offer, proposal, award, hire, training booking, payment arrangement, refund, cancellation, performance obligation, dispute or claim between users is directly between those users unless a separate written agreement with Lineman Canada expressly says otherwise. Lineman Canada may provide payment or administrative tools but is not responsible for fulfillment, quality, timing, pricing, chargebacks, losses, injury, property damage or disputes. We may, but are not required to, assist with reports or restrict accounts.

7. Platform content and safety notices

Information, editorial content, user posts and safety-related materials are general information only. They are not engineering, operational, medical, legal, regulatory, certification, trade, safety or site-specific advice. Current official requirements, employer/owner procedures, competent supervision and applicable laws always control.
